About This Approach

Discrete Trial Training is one of the most researched and effective ABA methodologies available. In a DTT session, a therapist presents a clear instruction (the antecedent), waits for the child's response, and immediately delivers reinforcement for correct attempts. Each trial is brief — typically 5–10 seconds — allowing hundreds of learning opportunities in a single session. This density of practice accelerates skill acquisition for children who need structured, predictable routines to learn foundational concepts.
